The
Commanders Corner

Once again another
"New Year" is here and we at American Legion Post 154 hope that it's
a good year for everyone.
Our Veteran's Circle of Freedom War Memorial is
moving along. It has been in the works for about three years now and is beginning
to take shape. The monument is formed, Old Glory is flying and the first order
for bricks has been placed. We hope to begin laying the bricks and getting a fence
in place soon.
It's not too late to order a brick in remembrance of a loved
one. Order forms are at the Post.
Each brick purchase and/or donation moves
us closer to completion of this monument to honor every veteran who served our
Country since World War I. A special "Thank You' to everyone who has made
purchases, given donations or volunteered their help.
There will once again
be a "Super Bowl" party at the Post on Super Bowl Sunday. It was loads
of fun last year and the food was great. There will be a big screen television
so come and be with us for the game.
Bingo is on Friday's at 8:00pm. Cards
go on sale at 7:15pm and the public is welcome. The "Big Game" is for
$500.00.
We continue to look for new members. If you're interested in the
Legion, Ladies Auxiliary or Sons of the Legion call the Post (786-5356) for information.
The Legion and Auxiliary meet on the second Monday of the month with dinner served
at 6pm and the meeting at 7pm. The Sons of the Legion meet on the third Monday
with food at 6pm and the meeting at 7pm.
Liz Lee is now handling hall rentals.
Contact her at 912-844-4741 for information on using the hall for weddings, parties
or family events.
As always, Linda or Patti will have the canteen open at
5pm every day.
For God and Country
