The
Commanders Corner

The Veterans
Day parade went great. The Chatham County Veterans Council once again did a fantastic
job of coordinating the one hundred plus units that participated. We also want
to thank all the people who came out to show their appreciation to the veterans
of this great nation.
The veteran's memorial Circle of Freedom
is moving along. Bricks for the walkway have been ordered and should soon be in
place. There is still plenty of room for those who have not purchased a brick
dedicated to the sacrifices of friends or family members who fought for our freedom.
Christmas is almost here and we ask that everyone take the time to remember the
reason for the season. Spend time with friends and family and be thankful
for all we have.
On Sunday, December 20th, we are having our White Elephant
Christmas party. This starts at 6:00pm and is a covered dish dinner with some
really off the wall presents. If there are any questions about any
of our events please contact the Post at 786-5356, after 5pm.
Tickets for
the New Years dance go on sale December 1st and will be available at the
Post. Tickets are $25.00 each. We have a really good band and will serve breakfast
after the New Year comes in.
Bingo is on Fridays at 8:00pm. Cards go
on sale at 7:15pm. Horseshoes are Saturday at 7:00pm. Both events are open to
the public and everyone is invited to participate.
We continue to look for
new members. If youre interested in the Legion, Ladies Auxiliary or Sons
of the Legion call the Post (786-5356) for information.
As always, Linda or
Patti will have the canteen open at 5pm every day. Our monthly Legion meetings
are on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm with dinner served at 6 pm.
